If whistling while you work is a sign you are happy, then singing while you work must mean you really love your job. That’s true for Andre, who believes it goes hand-in-hand with loving your surroundings as well.

“You must love the whole community to show love back,” he says. “I love to sing and cook, and cook while I sing,” he says. Andre was first drawn to Solera Senior Living by the beauty of Edgeworth Park. “The first time I walked through the doors, seeing all the smiles on everyone’s face really put a smile on my face,” he says.

Andre has several years of experience in senior living and also has been a Sous Chef for a casino. He’s also currently the chef for the state of Virginia’s former secretary of state.

It’s no surprise that one of Andre’s passions is cooking for others in his spare time, as well as playing with Fritz, his canine companion. He’s also a fan of soccer and says a trip to England would be a perfect vacation. Andre holds an Applied Science degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University.
