Keshia Sutherland, Memory Care Director

When it comes to the core values of Solera Senior Living—compassion, commitment, communication and creativity—Keshia says all four are essential in her everyday role as director of memory care.

“Being compassionate toward others, communicating effectively, being committed to ensuring the safety of those we care for, and putting creativity to work to bring new ideas to the table that benefit the community—you need all four to work well in senior living,” she says. She’s been doing exactly that for the past 15 years. “Caring for seniors gives me the added benefit of working with those who have a lifetime of experiences and knowledge to share.”

Keshia grew up in Jamaica and earned her Associate of Science degree in social science from Thomas Nelson Community College. She also has a Bachelor of Science degree, as well as a Master of Science degree (pending), from Old Dominion University.

In her spare time, Keisha enjoys watching Golden Girls, watching documentaries on plants and animals, and reading her favorite book, “To Kill a Mockingbird.” Her dream vacation would be an all-inclusive trip to Maldives.
